The FXD Work Pants Collection
FXD work pants have quietly become the default on a lot of sites, and it is not marketing that did it. It is that they move. Most drill trousers fight you the first time you kneel down, and these were drawn around the assumption that kneeling is most of the job.
Stretch Panels Where the Body Actually Bends
The WP-3 is the pair to understand, because everything else on this page is a variation on it. The fabric is a stretch cotton canvas at 295gsm, which is heavy enough to take a day's abuse without being the board-stiff drill people used to put up with. What FXD adds on top is placement.
There are stretch panels set into the back yoke and the knees rather than stretch woven evenly through the whole garment, so the give is where the body hinges. The pockets are reinforced with a nylon and polyurethane canvas, the internal pocket bags are double-layered, the fly runs a YKK zip, and the seams are triple-needle. None of that is visible on a hanger, and all of it is why the pair lasts.
Straight, Cuffed or Elastic Waist
Three shapes cover the men's range. Straight leg is the WP-3 and the plainer WP-1, WP-5 and WP-6. Cuffed is the WP-4, which gathers at the ankle to keep the hem clear of the ground and stop debris dropping into a boot.
The WP-12 line is the newest thinking: an elastic waist in a stretch ripstop, in both straight and cuffed versions. If you spend the day climbing in and out of a cab, an elastic waist stops being a compromise and starts being the reason you bought them.
Women's FXD Pants and Leggings
The women's range mirrors the men's shapes properly rather than offering one token style. Straight and cuffed pants in black, khaki and navy, in both the stretch and the plainer builds, at the same price as the men's equivalents.
There are also work leggings, in plain and taped versions, which are a genuinely different garment rather than a slimmer trouser. For anyone in a role that involves a lot of getting up and down, they are worth a look before you dismiss them.
Reflective and Taped Styles
Several styles carry reflective tape, and they are all navy. They come in straight and cuffed legs and in both men's and women's cuts, and they sit a few dollars above the plain versions.
Each listing states exactly what tape configuration a pair carries and where it sits on the leg, so read that against whatever you have been asked to wear rather than going by the photo. The plain and taped versions are otherwise the same trouser.
Order FXD Work Pants Online
Almost the whole range sits at a single price, which makes the decision easier than it usually is: pick the shape, pick the colour, stop thinking about it. Buy online and delivery is on the house beyond $175, posted out of our Parafield store.
One sizing note. The stretch means these wear closer than a traditional drill trouser, so if you are coming from another brand, do not assume your usual number. Ring (08) 8182 1333 or try a pair in the showroom, then kit out the rest:
