Flat Seams, Wide Legs and Seven Belt Loops
The Cowboy Cut 13MWZ is the pair the rest of the range is measured against, and the reasons are structural rather than sentimental. Wrangler fells the side seams flat so nothing sits proud against your leg in the saddle, and cuts the leg opening to 16 3/4 inches so it clears a boot instead of bunching above it.
There are seven belt loops on it rather than the usual five, which is what keeps a belt and a tucked shirt where you put them. The denim is 14.75oz cotton, heavy enough that a new pair will nearly stand up on its own and takes a few wears to soften. Wrangler still lists the 13MWZ as the official ProRodeo competition jean, which is a fair summary of who it was drawn for.
Men's Wrangler Jeans
The men's Wrangler range covers the Cowboy Cut in rigid indigo, prewashed indigo, shadow black, bleach and prewashed tan, with the slim-fit 936 in both rigid and prewashed. The Active Flex version of the same jean comes in stonewash, and there is a Western bootcut in navy stretch.
Retro is the dressier end of it, in slim and straight legs with the W pocket embroidery that marks the collection out, plus a Cody Johnson relaxed fit in blue stone. The Wrangler Classic Jeans range sits alongside for the plainer cuts. Boys' ProRodeo jeans run the same regular and slim fits down through junior sizing, so a kid at the campdraft is wearing what everyone else is.
Women's Wrangler Jeans
The women's Wrangler range is built around the Ultimate Riding fits. Q-Baby is the mid-rise one, here in Arizona, Amelia, Austin, Windsong and Tilly washes, with the Dark Dynasty version in the Ultimate Riding cut proper. If you have ridden in a pair before, you will already know which of the two you want.
Willow runs through Amber, Chara, Luna, Verity and Margo, several of them in a 34 leg for anyone who has spent years turning hems up. Bespoke is the curve-fit line, in hi-rise bootcut, flare, skinny and trouser legs, and the Retro mid-rise bootcut and Dillen hi-rise fill in either side of it.
