Seven Reasons Why Clothes are the Perfect Easter Present

3 Minute Read

The supermarkets are stacked to the brim with chocolate eggs, your long weekend plans are coming together, and the Easter Bunny is getting ready for his big egg deliveries. Easter is finally here!

With the knowledge that I might upset some chocolate lovers out there (I apologise in advance), here's a countdown of seven reasons why clothes make a great gift this Easter.

1. Your Waistline

Chocolate food coma

New clothes will make you look and feel amazing. Chocolate... not so much. Well, that's a lie. At first you'll be in heaven. Especially if you're eating Lindt or Cadbury. Okay, don't get distracted.

After that fleeting euphoria, you're likely to be lying face down in a food coma wondering how your jeans suddenly became tighter.

2. Chocolate is Temporary. Country Fashion Lasts.

I'm not hating on chocolate. It's amazing. But a mouth-watering Creme Egg doesn't have the lifespan of a new denim jacket or a fresh pair of boots.

Your new clothes can stay in your wardrobe for years. As more Easters roll around, your collection grows instead of your chocolate stash disappearing in a day.

3. It's the Perfect Time for Winter Clothing

Easter arrives just as the weather starts to cool across Australia. That makes it a great excuse to pick up some new winter clothing or give it as a gift.

Skip the extra Easter layer around your waist and throw on a new jacket or hoodie instead.

4. Look Your Best All Long Weekend

Few things feel better than heading out in a new outfit. You feel more confident, walk a little taller and suddenly you've got a bit more swagger.

The Easter long weekend is a chance to relax, catch up with family and friends or head out for a few days away.

If you're going to do it, do it in style.

5. No Sugar Frenzy

This one's for the parents. We don't need to talk about how much sugar goes into Easter chocolate.

Maybe ask the Easter Bunny to swap a few eggs for a visit to Allingtons instead. It might keep the kids from bouncing off the walls... at least for a little while.

6. No Sick Dog

Dog and chocolate

We all know chocolate and dogs don't mix. If your dog is anything like ours, they'll happily eat just about anything they can reach.

Keep those Easter eggs well hidden and out of reach from curious noses and hungry paws.

7. Why Not Have Both?

Let's be honest. Easter eggs aren't going anywhere. They're a tradition for millions of people and a favourite treat for kids every year.

So why not combine the two?

An Easter Bunny fits perfectly inside a new pair of boots. A handful of chocolate eggs sits nicely inside a country or western hat. Even a shirt pocket makes a surprisingly good hiding spot... just don't forget they're there.

However you spend Easter, with plenty of chocolate or none at all, we hope you have a safe and happy break with family and friends.

Where does the Easter Bunny hide your eggs? Or do you have an Easter tradition that doesn't involve chocolate? We'd love to hear about it.
