At Allingtons we consider our staff and customers family, and what do families do? They stay connected, support each other and share ideas and stories. That's why we're bringing you our Country Mile Blog!
We will post product tips and info, community events, Allingtons out and about adventures, and sometimes just general useless bits of info we hope you find entertaining, and a bit different from the sometimes-monotonous daily routine.

Some of you may be new to the Allingtons family, so to kick things off, let's give you a bit more info about what we are and what we do, and most importantly, where we came from.
The Evolution of the Allingtons Brand
In 1978, Eric and Doreen Allington saw great potential in the Golden Grove Supplies Store, which at the time incorporated the Post Office, Fodder Store, Deli and Petrol Station in Golden Grove, SA. The original business operated as a chaff-cutting service, supplying grain, hay and pellet feed to places as far away as Broken Hill and Alice Springs.
Over the years Golden Grove Saddlery evolved into a retail country clothing operation with less emphasis on saddlery. The business was renamed Allingtons Country Clothing and Saddlery.
The Start of a New Era at Allingtons
Allingtons have come a long way since those relatively humble beginnings. In October 2001 the business was renamed Allingtons Outpost to reflect the greater variety of country clothing, work and western wear.
The name change coincided with the move from the smaller Golden Grove store to the larger, more prominent premises on Main North Road at Parafield, growing and developing to what it is today.
2016 saw the launch of a much-anticipated online store. The overwhelming response and support from loyal customers have contributed to making allingtons.com.au a viable and thriving online shopping destination for local, national and international customers.
In 2018 Allingtons celebrated 40 years of business. A huge milestone we celebrated with our customers in a party that lasted weeks!
Following enormous growth during the global pandemic of 2019, in early 2022, the business secured a second warehousing facility in order to facilitate an ever-growing eCommerce presence. Such growth and prominence in the country, work and western wear industry can only be attributed to our very loyal customers.
