Whether your hat is an Akubra, Thomas Cook, Wrangler, Pure Western, Sovereign, Statesman or Stetson, made from rabbit fur, buffalo fur, beaver fur or wool, the care of any felt hat is pretty much the same. Our number one recommendation would be to treat your hat with Felt Hat Rain & Stain Protector Spray or some form of Scotchgard as soon as you purchase it. This will help to prevent staining in the first place, and will also boost your hat's water repellent qualities. Beyond that, if your hat just needs a light clean to take off loose nap, lint and surface soils, the hat Cleaning Sponge is perfect. Always use a sponge or a soft bristled brush in an anti-clockwise direction on your hat to assist in restoring the fur to it's original direction.
