For The Wrangler, the crown is shaped to a 9 cm height, and the brim is set at a 9 cm width. These dimensions give a classic western silhouette. The hat is then trimmed and finished with a horsehair hatband. The Wrangler is also designed for life on the go. How do I work out what size I need for the kids Avenel Wrangler Hat?
To start with, you establish their size as per their head measurement. Measure the circumference around their head - approximately 12mm (1/2") above their ears. Keep the dressmaker tape level and firm, and keep it across the temple and above the eyebrow ridges. For in-between measurements, select the next size up.

Can they wear it in the rain?
Yes the wool felt is naturally water repellent, and will tolerate a light shower. When it does get wet, let it air dry naturally. Avoid accelerating the drying process by using heat or direct sunlight, which can cause the natural felt fibre to shrink.

How do we care for The Wrangler hat?
Use a soft bristle brush to gently brush away dust. Light marks can be wiped off with a damp cloth. Increase the water and stain repellent quality of the hat with a rain and stain protector spray. To maintain its shape long-term, store it on a hat stand, on a shelf upside down (on it's crown), or in a hat box. Teach kids to handle it by the brim rather than the crown to help keep its shape.
