52 cm (2XS or XXS) and 54cm (XS). To find out what size you need, measure the circumference around their head - approximately 12mm (1/2") above their ears. Keep the dressmaker tape level and firm, and keep it across the temple and above the eyebrow ridges. For in-between measurements, select the next size up.
Are they water-resistant?
Yes the wool felt is naturally water repellent, and will tolerate a light shower. However, we do recommend treating your hat with a rain and stain protector spray. This will increase the water repellent quality, and also help prevent the hat from becoming stained. If it does get wet, let it air dry naturally. Avoid accelerating the drying process by using heat or direct sunlight.
How do you clean and care for a child’s Avenel hat?
Use a soft bristle brush to gently brush away dust. Light marks can be wiped off with a damp cloth. Increase the water and stain repellent quality of the hat with a rain and stain protector spray. To maintain its shape long-term, store it on a hat stand, on a shelf upside down (on it's crown), or in a hat box. Teach kids to handle it by the brim rather than the crown to help keep its shape.
