Allingtons is expanding its workwear variety with the new Hard Yakka 3056 Range. Hard Yakka has rebranded and is back with all new features and products to keep the working man or women up to date in both safety and style.

PROTECT is Hard Yakka’s most tenacious range of workwear yet. It’s tough, comfortable and practical – but where it really delivers is protection against flash fire and arc flash. ShieldTEC products are designed to provide superior heat stress reduction, comfort and innovation without compromising your safety.

The new protection and comfort technology that is incorporated into the products include:

  • ShieldTEC
    • Defining a new level of comfort and protection, the ShieldTEC FR range features our highest degree of safety and protection to date. Meets the toughest safety standards worldwide including the Australian and New Zealand guidelines for flame resistant garments and the USA’s NFPA 70E and NFPA 2112 standards. The ShieldTEC FR range has been designed to reduce heat stress and maximize comfort, built for Australian conditions.
  • Bulwark iQ
    • The Bulwark iQ Series ® features a lightweight, flame resistant knit fabric that uses a more effective chemistry to provide superior protection and reduce the risk of heat stress.
  • Fabric Technology
    • SuperCrease
      • Brings crease retention to most man-made or natural fibre garments. This specially formulated line of resin gives Hard Yakka products the ability to remain as sharp and as smart as the designer intended. Formulated to last the life of the product, treated creases remain as crisp and natural as the day they were first pressed.
    • Raysan
      • Recent research shows that sunscreens alone don’t sufficiently protect Australians against the formation of melanoma and related skin cancers. While people who work outdoors are being advised to cover up, a study of 250 fabrics revealed that more than half of them don’t offer sufficient UV protection. Sandoz Chemicals Ltd, in association with Sunsafe and the University of New South Wales, has developed a technology that increases the Sun Protection Factor of lightweight garments. It’s called the Rayosan process. Rayosan increases the absorption of damaging ultraviolet rays by fabrics without changing garment appearance, handling or breathability. • Anti-Static
      • Cordura® adds style, durability and comfort to workwear. This lightweight fabric is made using the highest tenacity fibre technology available. With an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and remarkable resistance to tears, scuffs and abrasions, Cordura can withstand more than three times the amount of wear of standard workwear fabrics. Not surprisingly, it’s fabrics like Cordura that help Hard Yakka workwear deliver the kind of class-leading toughness and comfort that you’d expect from an Aussie icon.
    • 3M reflective Tapes
      • Hard Yakka utilises a number of 3M reflective tapes with patented retroreflective technology including 8910 50mm and 9910 50mm. The 8910 tape is ideal for home washes up to 40°C, and the 9910 tape is suitable for home washes up to 60°C and light industrial washes. Hard Yakka also uses ‘breathable’ 3M reflective tape designs. The first, 3M 8725 50mm perforated tape, actively promotes airflow to help keep you cool and comfortable. The second, 3M 5510 50mm segmented tape, also stretches and moves with you, making it ideal for stretching or lifting. The newest addition is 8935 Industrial Wash Flame Retardant perforated tape featured on selected Protect products.
    • Teflon
      • Even the toughest and dirtiest of jobs are no problem for Hard Yakka. Teflon® fabric protection helps release heavy-duty dirt and grime in the wash. Nothing’s tougher on dirt and stains than Hard Yakka with Teflon

Footwear is extremely important to get right when in a labour based industry. Without the proper comfort and protection, your body could be open to all sorts of risks and injuries. When choosing the right work footwear, be aware of the features and how they’ll assist you in your day-to-day tasks.

  • Footwear Technology
    • Composite Safety Toe
      • Garments are classified based on the ultraviolet protection factor (UPF). The UV protection of fabric depends on the content, weave, density and colour. A UPF rating is an indication of the fabric’s ability to block out UV radiation.
    • Steel Safe Toe Cap
      • In addition to the composite safety toe cap, Hard Yakka also offers a traditional steel toe cap. Unlike non-metallic safety toe caps which are not suitable for all work environments, the Hard Yakka traditional steel toe cap provides an extremely high degree of protection in all sorts of working conditions. Needless to say, the steel safety toe cap also meets all requirements of the AS/NZS 2210.3 standard for safety toe caps.
    • Anti-Static
      •  Hard Yakka’s range of footwear includes styles that undergo a special anti-static process during construction. This innovative manufacturing method means the footwear minimises electrostatic build-up and therefore reduces the risk of spark ignition of flammable material and vapours. All Hard Yakka styles with this anti-static feature have been manufactured in accordance with AS/NZS Standard 2210.3 Classification A for Anti-Static Footwear.
    • Hard Yakka Gel Innersole
      • Hard Yakka’s shock absorbent gel innersoles are perfect for workers who are out and about, on-site or in the warehouse. With a deep heel cup for improved stability, built-in arch support and a grip bottom to prevent the innersole from slipping, Hard Yakka gel innersoles cushion and protect the forefoot and heel like no other. Combine this with superior wicking, breathability and odour control and the result is a superior level of comfort and support that helps prevent foot pain and reduces back and body fatigue.
    • Dual Density PU/TPU Outsole
      • Hard Yakka safety footwear features advances in innersole, midsole and outsole technology that deliver significant benefits. The innersole delivers total comfort thanks to an integrated, full-length moulded and padded footbed from heel to toe. The unique PU (Polyurethane) midsole offers outstanding shock absorption while also delivering all-day wearer comfort. And the innovative, hard wearing TPU (Thermo Plastic Urethane) outsole is not only resistant to oils, common chemicals and heat (up to 130°C) but provides superior protection from hydrolysis.2210.3 standard for safety toe caps.
    • Thermolite
      • The perfect fabric choice for layering, Thermolite is a lightweight insulating fabric that provides excellent warmth and greater freedom of movement. Made with ADVANSA engineered hollow-core fibres that trap air for greater insulation, Thermolite also dries 20% faster than other insulating fabrics and 50% faster than cotton.
